I got a new lens. A fast wide angle lens, and I brought it to the bout. Now what do you do with a wide angle lens at a derby bout.... ya got to get close... really close.
What do I get really close to during a bout? Those pesky inside pack and jam refs photo bombing my shots of the roller girls... hey! how about trying to get some shots of them?
I probably could have tried using an eeny-weeny amount of flash, but a few turned out pretty good.

The throw on the new lens is short, but a little stiff. I could have used a "steer" on the lens.... which arrived in the mail on the Monday after the bout... all well.... next time then.
