Santa Cruz's Kaiser Permanente Arena as a venue for, that's right, roller derby!

About 2100 tickets were sold for this derby bout, the most sold for any roller derby bout ever in Santa Cruz county. Supposedly, the Kaiser Permanente Arena was built for a different purpose in mind..... but I think we all know better.

According to the narrative evaluation in the Santa Cruz Sentinel (photos by Kevin Johnson), "Army Sgt. DVS Dicer brought her entire unit to see the bout. A Sin City Rollergirl when she's not involved in training at Fort Hunter Liggett, she and her camouflaged crew cheered all night for Sin City."
It seemed like the longest time with her back towards the photographers,
but when she took her place in the line up, it was perfect
