Ah, another Sunday bout at the Santa Cruz Civic. Which means, yeah, that's right, sodium lamps!
I thought I'd try shooting with a full-strength tungsten gel on the on-camera flash
and on the off-camera flash on a little platform at the top of turn 3.
Unfortunately, the darker gel meant a heavier flash setting (half-power) with after a bout and a half burned through the gel on the remote flash
So next time, I either have to get the gel off the flash surface and/or use the slightly lighter tungsten gel so I require less power to push through it.
I attempted to set the white-balance in-camera at the bout (by shooting at the grey stairwells). Skin tones are a little on the yellow or red side of the spectrum
I did try using the "tungsten" preset in Capture One... which mostly gets the skin tones correct... even if it's a little on the blu-ish side.
Still I did have some fun trying to shoot into my remote flash... trying to time the shot to mostly block the remote flash.... these were shot around f4 instead of f2.8 or f2, which pretty much kills the ambient light
