Always good to get back to the Craneway (although, it seemed that the lighting wasn't aimed towards the track like it has been in the past).
First bout! San Francisco ShEvil Dead versus the Berkeley Resistance!
I think that 24mm might be a little too wide without using the EVF or an auxiliary finder (this next one was cropped). May need to bring the 28mm next time.
Ermagherd! Derby season has barely started and I'm behind on blogging.
Some shots of a scrimmage I snapped last month and the Santa Cruz Derby Girls' new warehouse....
My new rangefinder find shoots video. I have an EVF for this, but I don't use it.
Instead, I do what I do when I shoot still photos. I look through the viewfinder. Everything appears to be in perfect focus (the viewfinder in a rangefinder is just a piece of glass, after all... like looking through a window). I compare the principal image with the image in the focus patch and I imagine what is in focus and what is not in focus, and I move the camera to frame. I think this lends itself to shooting uncut video snapshots.
